Conversation First

Speaking is at the heart of all of our classes, and in an immersive setting, you’ll get even more opportunity to practice critical speaking and listening skills.

I felt like I really learned a lot over the ten week class. Great mix of grammar, speaking and fun.

Here's what to expect

Step 1

NITTY GRITTY

Everyday vocabulary. Verb conjugation in imperfect. Verb conjugation in imperative. Construct phrases. Numbers past 100.

Step 2

KNOW BEFORE YOU GO

Start here if you've already completed Hebrew 2 with us, or if you can confidently read and write Hebrew, conjugate verbs in present, past, and future tenses, use modal verbs and adverbs of frequency, ask for time and date, count up to 100, and know how to use את.

Step 3

YOU'LL BE ABLE TO

Give and ask for advice and directions. Talk about what you used to do. Speak your mind about politics and other topics at your next dinner party with your Hebrew-speaking friends.

Step 4

NERVOUS? DON'T BE

From day one, you'll be engaging in conversation with your instructor and your classmates. This will prepare you to feel confident and comfortable when speaking with natives.

We love questions, almost as much as we love providing answers. Here are a few samplings of what we're typically asked, along with our responses

Do you hold classes on holidays?

We know our students and teachers probably have holiday plans, so we do not hold classes on holidays. The full list of our skip dates is New Years Day, Martin Luther King Jr Day, Presidents Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving, and a holiday break between Christmas and New Years.

Can I cancel my enrollment or transfer to another level?

Plans change—we get it. You have until 7 days before the start date of your Group Course to make any cancelations or same-level transfers. After that, there are no refunds under any circumstance. During the first 2 weeks of class, however, if you feel your level isn't the right fit, reach out to [email protected], and we will transfer you to a better fit, free of charge!

What happens if I miss a class?

Most students do miss a class, or two, and we’re here to help ensure that you won’t fall behind despite any missed classes. We’ve set up our curriculum to make lessons easy to follow along outside of class, and your teacher will reach out to your group each week with a summary of materials, topics, and homework covered in-class.

How many times do you group classes meet?

All of our group classes meet for a total of 20 hours of live instruction. Some courses meet 2 hours once a week for a total of 10 sessions, while others meet 1 hour twice a week for a total of 20 sessions.

Are there any age restrictions?

Only students 18 years or older can participate in this course. If you are looking for options for students under 18, please check out our Kids and Teens page!
