Here's what to expect

Step 1

THE NITTY GRITTY

Everyday vocabulary. Double verbs. Numbers past 100. Mansoub nouns. Root verbs with four consonants. Plural of feminine verbs. Majhoul verbs. Maf3oul nouns. Possessive pronouns. Ina in nominal sentences.

Step 2

NERVOUS? DON'T BE

From day one, you'll be engaging in conversation with your instructor and your classmates. This will prepare you to feel confident and comfortable when speaking with natives.

Step 3

YOU'LL BE ABLE TO

Feel familiar with Arabic's verb patterns. Read an Arabic newspaper. Listen to the news and radio in Arabic. Have conversations about what's going on in politics or your social life with your Arabic-speaking friends.

Step 4

KNOW BEFORE YOU GO

Start here if you've already completed Arabic 5 with us, or if you can confidently use place nouns, definite and indefinite articles, mawomen what/who, interrogatives, demonstratives, examples, colors, and kana to mark time and duration. You should also be able to conjugate verbs ending in “waw” and “ya,” and have a good handle on prepositions, months, Arabic diacritics, majrour nouns, nominalization, and the dual.

We love questions, almost as much as we love providing answers. Here are a few samplings of what we're typically asked, along with our responses

Do you hold classes on holidays?

We know our students and teachers probably have holiday plans, so we do not hold classes on holidays. The full list of our skip dates is New Years Day, Martin Luther King Jr Day, Presidents Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving, and a holiday break between Christmas and New Years.

How many times do you group classes meet?

All of our group classes, except Essentials, are 2 hours once a week for 10 sessions. Our Essentials classes are 1.5 hours twice a week for 12 weeks.

Can I cancel my enrollment or transfer to another level?

Plans change—we get it. You have until 7 days before the start date of your Group Course to make any cancelations or same-level transfers. After that, there are no refunds under any circumstance. During the first 2 weeks of class, however, if you feel your level isn't the right fit, reach out to [email protected], and we will transfer you to a better fit, free of charge!

What happens if I miss a class?

Most students do miss a class, or two, and we’re here to help ensure that you won’t fall behind despite any missed classes. We’ve set up our curriculum to make lessons easy to follow along outside of class, and your teacher will reach out to your group each week with a summary of materials, topics, and homework covered in-class.

Are there any age restrictions?

Only students 18 years or older can participate in this course. If you are looking for options for students under 18, please check out our Kids and Teens page!
