What happens if I miss a class?

Your teacher will email a class summary to the entire class each week so you’ll always know what’s going on even if you missed a class.

For language classes, we’re also happy to set up a one-on-one makeup lesson at the super discounted rate of $45/hour (rather than the regular rate of $80/hour for private lessons). Unfortunately, class attendance is set at the start of each class, so you would not be able to attend a different group language class to make it up.

How many students are in each class?

Size does matter! And we keep ‘em small. For language classes, max class size is 15 students, but most classes average around 8 - 10. For immersions, class sizes are capped at 20.

What can I expect in a typical class?

Meet awesome people who are just as insatiably curious and excited to enrich their lives as you are. For immersions and popups, we love getting into the mix. Expect to do things like shake up your own cocktails, learn how to style your own spaces, and taste food and drink from many cultures.

For language classes, we’re all about real-world practical use of knowledge. We like getting away from the textbook and putting the emphasis on spoken conversation.

Who teaches the classes?

The best of the best, of course. We only accept 4% of instructor applicants who are all excited to share their passions with you. Our immersion instructors are some of the best, most influential leaders in their fields—shaking things up at iconic NYC cocktail hot spots & Michelin star restaurants and leading award-winning design practices. Our language teachers come from all over the world—from Paris to Tokyo to Buenos Aires (and everywhere in between!) and all speak with native-level fluency.

How do I know which language level to choose?

You can find descriptions of each level on all language class pages. If you still have any questions, we’re happy to help you figure it out! Just give us a quick call at (877) 284-5122.

Oh, and if you start a class and realize, you’re in the wrong level, we’ll help you transfer to a different class, free of charge.

What are your refund and cancelation policies?

Plans change—we totally get it. That’s why you have until 7 days prior to the start date of your class to make any cancelations or same-level transfers. After that, refunds cannot be offered under any circumstance and for transfers, there may be a fee. (Exception: If you’re in an incorrect level placement for a language class, we’ll make sure to get you into the right one).
