Beginner German 1 is perfect for you if you're completely new to the language and you want to get the basics down to start speaking conversational German.

Basics of reading and writing German. Conjugation of verbs in present tense. Question form. Number and gender agreement. Possessive adjectives. Plurals. View the full curriculum here.
With a small group (averaging six students per class and capped at ten), you'll have an opportunity to engage in conversational German with other language learners with realtime feedback from the instructor.
By the end of our level one course, you'll be able to introduce yourself to native speakers, talk about your day, and describe your hobbies and profession.

All of our group classes meet for a total of 20 hours of live instruction. Some courses meet 2 hours once a week for a total of 10 sessions, while others meet 1 hour twice a week for a total of 20 sessions.
We know our students and teachers probably have holiday plans, so we don't hold classes on Federal holidays.
Plans change - we get it. You have until 7 days before the start date of your group course to make any cancelations or transfers. After that, we unfortunately cannot offer any refunds.
If you feel your level isn't the right fit, reach out to [email protected] before your second class and we will transfer you to a better fit, free of charge!

As long as the group course has not been cancelled or it has spots left, there is no deadline to sign up. However, we strongly encourage you to sign up at least two weeks in advance in order to secure your spot!
